Manhood International was established by Chauncey L. Bryant in 2005 at the Kent County Jail while serving as a Corrections Officer.
The concept was initiated while praying for inmates. From there it transitioned into training on the definition and responsibility of being a man and the components and purpose of a husband and fatherhood which include:
- financial accountability and responsibility
- leadership in the home, community, and church
- attention to health
The power of knowing your God given purpose, skills, talents and gifts to deploy to society. It is Manhood International's, goal to stretch beyond it's borders to the world integrating ourselves in the lives of every man reconstructing them with biblical, practical and moral principles so that their original design will manifest and God, will be glorified.

My name is Chauncey L. Bryant, I was born August 1, 1960 in Muskegon, Michigan. I was raised by my grandparents in Muskegon Heights, Michigan where I was active in my local church ministries. During my middle and high school years, I excelled in baseball and football. In 1978 and 1979 I was a member of the Muskegon Heights State of Michigan Class B State Championship basketball teams. Subsequently, those teams were enshrined in the West Michigan Area Hall of Fame in 2016.
Upon graduation in 1979 I entered the Armed Services- U S Army. I completed my basic training in Ft. Bliss, TX becoming a Hawk Missile Crew-member. My first assignment was at Ft. Riley Ks. ‘80-84 where I received my Sergeant stripes and returned to Texas from 84-85. I left the country for Germany in late 1985 where I remained until March 1989.
During this time I was trained and ordained as a minister and was the assistant pastor of Grafenwoehr, Germany. Prior to leaving Germany, I reenlisted and became a Military Policeman, training at Ft. McClellan in 1989. My first duty station was Ft. Lewis, WA., which produced four deployments; two to Panama and two to Honduras. While stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA., I completed Airborne training, Physical fitness Academy, and Physical Security school. In 1992 I returned to Germany, serving as a Military Policeman on several bases in the Frankfurt Germany area. Additionally, I served as a criminal investigator in Macedonia with the United Nations Coalition units; a Customs investigator and deployed to Bosnia / Herzegovina IFOR peacekeeping missions, and also as a Platoon Sergeant in Customs company.
In 1999, I concluded my service in the Armed Forces, and returned home to Muskegon, Michigan and was deputized a Sheriff's Deputy with the Kent County Sheriff’s Department in January of 2000. My duties here besides being a deputy, is a Field Training Officer for all incoming deputies. Furthermore, I serve as a Leadership school trainer and a Deputy in the Work Release program. During my tenure here I was given the liberty to initiate Manhood International in 2006. This organization / ministry was instituted to redirect men into their God given purpose, to make them leaders in their homes, communities, and churches, as well as to foster the meaning of fatherhood, husbands and the components of being a man. Manhood International, also attempts to restore hope, breakdown and rebuild knowledge bases. In addition giving men the wisdom, insight, understanding and truth they need to reach their godly potential. Manhood International uses various teaching aides: films, acting skits, team dynamics and verbal lecturing. I am presently a member of the Ambassadors Church, where I am an Elder overseeing the men's ministry (Men of Dominion), baptism, communion and teaching duties.
My extended formal education besides various leadership academies and training in the military and the Sheriffs dept. are an AA General studies from Central Texas College and a Bachelors degree from the International Theological Seminary. Moreover, I have had the distinct pleasure of traveling the world and spending an extensive amount of time in Germany, Hungary, Austria, England, France, Spain, Sweden, Netherlands, Southern Europe and Central America. Today, I am married with four children and one grandson. My wife and I reside in Fruitport, Michigan.
